We are looking for a Full-Time Senior Software Developer to join the IT department at the UTHealth School of Public Health. This position would support the needs of the Faculty and Administration. In this position, you will work with a Project Manager to build applications using Microsoft Power Applications based on gathered requirements. You'll also work with other developers and database administrators to develop applications.

Position Summary:

The selected candidate will build Canvas generated and model-driven Power Apps to meet the requirements of projects and customers. They are expected to collaborate with other business and IT entities at UTHealth Houston and provide technical leadership, vision, and direction for development and integration of projects for UTHealth Houston School of Public Health customers. They will be responsible for analysis, design, programming, and implementation of complex applications tasks and projects. They will design, code, test, and debug complex application programs. They will translate complex functional and technical requirements into custom design and development of Microsoft Power Platform-based applications. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service and communication skills and be able to effectively manage multiple projects.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  • Deliver services and solutions using the Power Platform suite: Microsoft's PowerApps, Power Automate, Power BI, custom development, and data integrations.
  • Support project and serve as technical lead in development plans, estimation, and code and design reviews.
  • Provide Power Platform architecture designs, configurations, administration or governance, and functional support.
  • Support projects as a technical lead in development plans, estimation, and code and design reviews
  • Establish and address security protocols within PowerApps.
  • Communicate with clients to understand and document the business requirement.
  • Communicate proposed designs and progress on the work to customers, team leads, and team members.
  • Work on multiple projects and assignments simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Problem solve and troubleshoot deployed Power Platform solutions.
  • Apply Power Apps including an in-depth understanding of customization, configuration, integration, and extensibility, as well as boundaries and constraints.
  • Develop new PowerApps model and canvas driven apps as well as enhancing existing apps.
  • Create business processes and custom connectors for Microsoft Power Automate/ Flow.
  • Task and time management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

  • Experience with computer hardware, software and programming.
  • Excellent technical and general communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Experience with Web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript.

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or related experience in lieu of education.

Minimum Experience:

  • Seven (7) years of relevant experience.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

Residency Requirement:

Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
