 The Millicent Atkins School of Education is seeking a dynamic and highly organized individual to fill the position of Administrative Assistant. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the administrative functions of three departments housed in the School of Education, ensuring smooth operations and efficient communication. This position requires someone with strong initiative, excellent critical thinking skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and a commitment to providing high-quality customer service. The successful candidate will be adept at working independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced academic environment.
Responsibilities:
* Take proactive steps to anticipate and address administrative needs before they arise.
* Demonstrate critical thinking skills in problem-solving and decision-making processes.
* Coordinate and schedule meetings, workshops, and events for the School of Education.
  Serve as the first point of contact for inquiries, providing a high standard of customer service to students, faculty, and external stakeholders.
  Work autonomously to prioritize and manage tasks effectively.
  Take ownership of assigned projects, seeing them through to completion with attention to detail. *  Collaborate with the finance department to assist in budget-related tasks, including tracking expenditures, processing invoices, and preparing financial reports.
Aid in the development and monitoring of the School of Education budget, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial guidelines.
Requirements
* Proven experience as an administrative assistant or relevant role. 
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). 
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
* Attention to detail and problem-solving skills. 
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 
* High school diploma; additional qualifications in Office Administration or related field is a plus. 
* Demonstrated initiative and critical thinking skills.
