A part of the Texas A&M University Health Science Center, Texas A&M School of Dentistry  in Dallas was founded in 1905 and is a nationally recognized center for oral health sciences education, research, specialized patient care and continuing dental education. Proposed Minimum Salary: Commensurate 


Work Schedule/Location: This is an on-site role with a typical schedule of Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field

  • Four years of related professional experience in a lab setting.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with appropriate laboratory and/or technical equipment.

  • Ability to effectively utilize a computer and applicable software to create databases, perform statistical analyses, present data and perform other computer related tasks.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Essential Duties/Tasks:

Lab Research/Experiments

  • Manage daily operation of a translational research lab and meet the university policies and regulations on lab safety and other relevant research-related activities.

  • Train, guide, and supervise other lab members such as dental students, dental graduate students/residents, lab technicians, and/or visiting scholars.

  • Assist in developing policies, procedures and/or methods for laboratory experiments, and order and manage research supplies. 

  • Perform independent translational research work, including experimental design, execution, and trouble shooting.

  • Perform data management and data analysis including statistical analysis using software such as SPSS for presentations, manuscripts, and grant proposals.

  • Perform advanced laboratory research activities such as animal studies.

  • Participate in the development and submission of internal/external grant proposals for research funding.

  • Participate in writing and submission of abstracts and manuscripts for scientific conferences and journal publications.

Equipment Maintenance

  • Establish, install, maintain, operate and/or repair research equipment.

  • Coordinate equipment usage, trouble shooting, and annual evaluation.

Financial

  • Prepare and write proposals to funding agencies; maintain financial accounts related to research projects.
