Normal Work Schedule: Varies; Monday - Friday 10:00am to 7:00pm, includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.


Job Summary: The Senior News Anchor writes, prepares, and communicates news stories to the audience in a clear, concise, entertaining, and accurate manner. Anchors multiple newscasts per day. Provides guidance and training to others staff and student employees.


Additional Department Summary: The Senior News Anchor plays a key leadership role in the newsroom. In addition to writing, anchoring, and producing content for broadcast and digital platforms, the anchor is a leader who guides newsroom editorial decisions and mentors student journalists and professional staff. The position anchors two or more newscasts each day and provides consistent guidance, coaching, and accountability for the news team. The person will help plan and execute ideas while fostering teamwork and collaboration.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of reporting experience to include two (2) years of news anchor experience.


Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
