The SIPs will also teach in the Social Sciences general education program (the Core) and other undergraduate courses.

In addition to teaching, the Senior Instructional Professors will contribute to ongoing curriculum development. The successful candidate will participate actively in weekly staff meetings, attend other course-related events, and hold regular office hours.

In addition to the teaching load, the Senior Instructional Professors will work in the administration of Writing Center programs including the SOSC Writing Program, a duty which includes jointly hiring, training, and supervising a writing staff of up to 30; overseeing and contributing to the production of the program’s teaching and learning resources; overseeing workshops for students and instructors; and engaging faculty instructors and Core Chairs in the program’s development and integration into Core pedagogy.
