Senior Health Program Specialist - (240000II)

The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences (OB/GYN) is currently recruiting for a Senior Health Program Specialist to support the Maryland Reproductive Clinical Health (MARCH) Program. The MARCH Program is aimed to expand access to reproductive health services in Maryland through abortion education and training.

The MARCH Program is funded by a $10.6 million dollar grant to expand the number of health care professionals with abortion care training, increase the racial and ethnic diversity among health care professionals with abortion care education, and support the identification of clinical sites needing training.

The Senior Health Program Specialist will assist in the day-to-day project management and operational support of the MARCH Program. The Senior Health Program Specialist will also be instrumental in helping lead, plan, and coordinate large meetings and conferences for the MARCH Program. The Senior Health Program Specialist will play a key role in supporting the MARCH Program and they will join a group of over 20+ staff and faculty members who comprise the MARCH Program.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Responsible for certain project management functions of the MARCH program, including day-to-day operations, internal reporting, and communication management for the MARCH program.

  • In collaboration with programmatic leadership, plan, develop, administer and coordinate new or revised goals and objectives for the health-related programs. Ensure that goals, objectives, and deliverables specified are accomplished in accordance within priorities, time and funding limitations, or other specifications.

  • Provide advanced administrative support to the programmatic leadership teams. Assist with the evaluation of the program effectiveness in order to develop and implement new or improved methods.

  • Contribute in the development and implementation of communication and dissemination strategies, including providing oversight to social marketing strategy, making media appearances, and maintaining content on website.

  • Perform specialized project management functions, including item tracking, program coordination and monitoring, issue logging, creating surveys, drafting reports, and recommending program changes.

  • Monitor and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders (i.e.: contractors, state agencies, legislature, and sponsors) to ensure compliance with work plan and deliverables.

  • Develop and facilitate workshops, meetings, training, or conferences with high impact on program and/or participants. Coordinate logistics, scheduling, communications, and participation.



Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree in health related field

Experience: Three (3) years of experience in a healthcare field. Experience in program planning, coordination, or training is required.

Supervisory Experience: N/A

Certification/Licensure: N/A

Other: Related healthcare experience to program may be substituted for education.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

Knowledge of position requirements. Knowledge of all applicable requirements, regulations, and laws. Skill in effective use of applicable technology/systems. Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. Ability to work cooperatively with others and independently.

Hiring Range: $64,000 - $73,000 per year (Commensurate with education and experience)
