Senior Graphic Designer

Become a part of NYU's design team, tasked with crafting and implementing marketing communications for all undergraduate programs across 10 schools, NYU's degree-granting campuses in Shanghai and Abu Dhabi, Global Programs in 12 locations, and actively overseeing NYU's brand identity. This role involves collaboration with a team of designers, writers, and project managers to develop innovative designs and update existing ones for various print and digital projects. It encompasses multi-page, multi-channel, and integrated campaigns. Formulate and execute design concepts on schedule and within budget. Responsible for production and heavy copy editing tasks, and able to switch gears easily.

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Art, Graphic Design, or Communication Design
Required Experience:
3+ years experience designing.
Preferred Experience:
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and analyze, define, and recommend visual identity standards and guidelines. A strong editorial and typographic designer with attention to detail is preferred.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Strong creative sense and excellent design skills. Firm understanding of page layout and typography with a good eye for photography. Experience with core principles of web design and user experience with basic knowledge of HTML, working within a content management system, and various social media platforms (Facebook Twitter, Instagram, WordPress). Strong knowledge of print production and preparation of files for print. The ability to handle, interpret and adhere to existing brand guidelines is an absolute must. Ability to gather materials from multiple sources to complete a project from concept through completion. Must have a strong attention to detail and a high degree of craftsmanship and precision. Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills. Must be self-motivated and able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast paced environment while effectively meeting deadlines. Collaborative attitude and a sense of teamwork. Comfortable being critiqued. Must be able to source both stock photography and newly commissioned work, as well as using archived images. Must be able to switch gears easily.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Strong presentation skills. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Animate. After Effects a plus).



In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $68,000.00 to USD $75,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
