General Description / Primary Purpose
This is work coordinating and providing custodial services as it relates to floor care including tile and carpet.

Essential Duties


Job Function
Oversees the work of floor care workers as well as performing floor care maintenance duties including maintain flooring surfaces in restrooms, classrooms, offices, common-use areas, and carpet and tile floors in accordance with the Preventive Maintenance schedule and the APPA cleaning standards. Performs floor and wall cleaning and maintenance duties related to floor care equipment. Performs all functions providing custodial services. Meets with staff to identify routine and special projects for a given shift. Coordinates the work of assigned employees. Assists in training employees. Reports needed maintenance work to the appropriate supervisor. May maintain and deliver supplies. During declared campus emergencies, this position may be required to perform specific job related duties at a designated off campus location or place of residence.

5% – Supplementary responsibilities. a) special set-up requests; b) graduations; c) provides manpower during events; d) cleans up after events; e) work orders; f) receives and delivers supplies; g) assists other departments as needed; h) picks up materials from vendors; i) helps keep break and storage areas neat and clean.
Required Qualifications
Completion of ninth (9th) grade required and one year of experience directly related to the job functions. HS Diploma preferred. Directly related college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
