Position Description:
Strategy, Planning, and Operations leads and manages a large and complex portfolio of IT projects and programs while establishing partnerships and stakeholder engagement efforts with students, faculty, staff, and external partners on behalf of the IT organization. The Strategy, Planning, and Operations Office also manages organizational initiatives and efforts, including general administrative functions, financial management and budgeting, vendor management and licensing, billing, internal communications, department human resources, talent management, and culture development.
The IT Financial Management team oversees expenditures required to deliver IT products and services across the university. The team administers a collaborative, cross-functional approach to operational spending and the reduction of IT and business process costs. The team leverages traditional enterprise financial and accounting best practices, and serves as a centralized billing function for all IT services.
The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for managing the UCLA IT department's financial data, identifying trends and insights, and providing recommendations to stakeholders in support of strategic planning and decision-making. This role serves as a subject matter expert and manages complex financial models and forecasts, develops, and monitors IT budgets, and performs variance analysis to identify areas for improvement. The Senior Financial Analyst works with IT and other relevant departments to ensure financial data is accurately tracked and reported, and to provide insights to help drive strategic business decisions. The Senior Financial Analyst enables UCLA IT to make informed financial decisions and achieve their financial goals.
The Senior Financial Analyst will positively impact UCLA's operations and culture by ensuring IT financial resources are managed appropriately and IT initiatives are appropriately resourced in service of the institution's academic mission. This team member will advance the University's mission by delivering exceptional information technology services comprehensively and consistently across faculty, staff, and students. This role will execute UCLA's vision while modeling UCLA's culture and values.
Special Instructions:
This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that includes regular visits to campus as needed (for those who work remotely, travel/lodging expenses are not eligible for reimbursement).
The anticipated pay range for this position is $106,200 - $118,000, annually; salary is dependent upon the skills and experience of the selected finalist.
