The Department of Surgery is seeking a Senior Financial Administrator. This position requires the appropriate application of a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in the fields of research accounting, pre and post-award administration financial analysis. Monthly duties will include reconciliation of contract and grant and departmental accounts, running reports, expense and revenue recordings, and expense approval, and maintaining accurate data, as well as ensuring that department spreadsheets are up to date.



Job Summary

Performs pre- and post-award accounting duties for very complex grants and contracts. Prepares, negotiates, and monitors very complex grants, contracts, subcontracts, and budgets. Prepares complex government applications and reports and interprets policy and procedure. Monitors account activity, performs internal audits, processes budget modifications, analyzes financials, and reviews routine reports. Develops and implements accounting techniques and procedures for operational improvements and assists with managing special projects and preparing operating budgets.


Essential Functions 

Must perform complex analytical skills and techniques and have computer skills; in particular, use of various financial databases. Excellent oral communications in order to explain financial terms.


Physical Effort 

Position is mostly sedentary but travel between various campus buildings is required.

Work Arrangement Hybrid: Combination of On-Campus and Remote work as determined by the department.
Hiring Range $53,617.00 - $71,489.00
