As the senior director of SCAD SERVE, you will lead the development of elegant, seamless, and elevated design-for-good experiences that engage and delight our SCAD family in the surrounding community and extend the global mindset. In this role you will expedite the development and physical build-out for the SERVE studio, embracing a university-wide culture of innovation and social responsibility that delivers a unified visual story. As such, you will continually build and scale the philosophy through strategic collaboration and long-term planning, shaping a clear vision of the future of SCAD’s community-focused design language.

Your responsibilities include leading and executing design innovations that advance the university’s agenda, strengthen the program, leverage alliances, and result in enhanced educational programs – elevating student learning outcomes. In this position you are responsible for integrating SCAD SERVE into academics through multiple touchpoints to promote positive behavior design thinking, ideas, and solutions that help our students further develop their professional skills while contributing to community wellbeing. As the senior director, you will closely engage with program advocates and identify local relationships to develop with community leaders that will make a positive impact.

The ideal candidate will have a human-centered visual design mindset who continuously raises the bar and has an entrepreneurial spirit. They must be able to foster cross-organizational relationships that celebrate the collaborative creative process. The position delivers at both strategic and tactical levels, not only conceptualizing university-wide design-for-good initiatives but also being directly involved with hands-on implementation of these transformative community-focused endeavors.

Minimum Qualifications:     

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field with at least seven years’ experience
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree
  • Higher education
  • Adobe Creative Suite expertise

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:            

  • Driver’s license and passport

Travel Required:

  • 20% to 40%

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
