Definition of Class

This position executes the day-to-day operations of the football program by assisting the Head Football Coach with oversight of non-coaching activities and non-coaching personnel. The incumbent creates and executes operational plans for the football program; oversees and manages the creation of travel and operational budgets; and directs the oversight of operational staff and non-coaching activities.


Examples of Work Performed
  • Executes and manages the day-to-day operations of the football program with oversight of non-coaching activities and staff.
  • Manages and oversees non-coaching activities directly associated with the operational staff for the football program.
  • Executes and makes arrangements for all speaking and external appearances for the Head Football coach and staff.
  • Serves as liaison with Athletic Department leadership.
  • Conducts annual evaluations of non-coaching operational staff.
  • Assists Head Coach with planning, developing, and operating the football program.
  • Assists the Head Football Coach with planning and executing operational aspects of the football program.
  • Executes all operational processes associated with the hiring of coaching staff and personnel.
  • Recruits and trains operational staff for football.
  • Manages the Football Quarterback Club which is the fundraising group associated with football support.
  • Oversees and manages the assigned budgets associated with the operational and travel needs of the football program.
  • Directs oversight of travel and all operational needs of the football program.
  • Develops and manages calendars and events associated with the operational processes for football.
  • Negotiates contracts associated with team travel, housing, and flights.
  • Ensures all assigned tasks are in compliance with department, University, Southeastern Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.

Essential Functions

  • Assists Head Coach with planning, developing, and operating the football program.
  • Oversees and manages creation of budgets.
  • Directs oversight of travel and operational needs.

  • Minimum Education/Experience

    Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.


    AND


    Experience:

    Five (5) years of experience related to the above described duties.


    Substitution Statement: Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.
