Senior Department Administrator III
Ophthalmology
Location:  New Orleans, LA
Summary
The Senior Department Administrator III for the Department of Ophthalmology is responsible for administration of the Department. This includes but is not limited to Strategic Planning and Business Development, Marketing, Financial, Human Resources, Clinical Operations and Activities, Grants/Contracts Activities, Office Management Operations, oversight of all satellite clinics, the residency and fellowship training programs, and fund raising activities in conjunction with the Chair to help build the Endowment. Oversees coordination of nonscientific/administrative portion of grant activities.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Supervisory experience
• Experience with grants management
• Experience with creating budgets and managing budgets
• Health care/patient care experience
• High proficiency with excel and computer software packages
• Solid analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent organizational and excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to multi-task, and prioritize work assignments without direct supervision
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all work performed
Required Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor’s required.
• 5 years relevant Administration/Management Experience, Clinical Administration Setting in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree.
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s level education preferred.
• Knowledge of patient care environment including physician billing, collections, insurance filing, etc.
• Experience with extramural research funding.
Compensation Information
This position is classified as "exempt, salaried" and is assigned to pay grade 28.
