Under supervision, the incumbent will: keep the headquarters area and facilities of the Research and Extension Center clean and orderly, using equipment such as lawn mowers, gas powered trimmers, blowers, buffers, and other necessary equipment; assist in basic grounds-keeping tasks such as mowing, raking, weed trimming, and leaf clean-up; keep facilities, restrooms, buildings, and equipment clean and orderly; assist in the set-up, removal and storage of chairs, tables, and other equipment; open Center buildings and facilities and assist tenants regarding use of equipment and facilities; perform routine public contact work; and perform other related work. Monitor building functions for any problems and report them to the appropriate party. Promote, in all ways consistent with the other responsibilities of the position, accomplishment of the Affirmative Action goals established by the Division.
The Hopland Research & Extension Center (HREC), located in Mendocino County, provides land, labor, and facilities for University researchers in the areas of animal science, rangeland management, wildlife and plant ecology, soil science, and public health. The Center is one of nine within the UC Agriculture and Natural Resources. It encompasses 5,358 acres, ten University staff, and multiple buildings, including seven houses and the Roderick Shippey Field Laboratory and Education Facility. The Center serves some 15 active research projects, and the unit has the responsibility for all maintenance and repair for the facility.
This position is a career appointment that is 85% fixed.

Pay Scale: $19.93/hour to $22.43/hour.
