Position Information

Under the supervision of the Director of Contracts, the Senior Contract Analyst assists in the management, review, and drafting of both standardized, template-based contracts and external complex contracts for the School of Medicine (SOM). Ensures that contracts are routed appropriately per Department policies, that approvals are obtained, that supporting documentation is in order, investigates discrepancies, and formats agreements consistent with policy. Works within the contract management application system and ensures timely and efficient administration. Detail-oriented and organized. Independently provides advice/guidance to various stakeholders, staff, and affiliates, and works closely with health sciences attorney, as necessary. Leads in resolving contract-related operational issues and will maintain ongoing external and internal relationships. Additionally, develops and provides training to other departments when necessary.

The salary range for the Senior Contract Analyst is $71,100 - $90,000 annually. The expected pay scale for this position is up to $85,000 annually. We base placement within these ranges on the individual's qualifications as they relate to this position.

Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

Minimum Requirements

Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills; and ability to deal effectively with broad and diverse constituencies ensuring strong customer service orientation and skills.
Strong listening and political acumen skills.
Strong organizational, presentation and negotiation skills.
Thorough knowledge of internal departmental/unit operating policies, applicable state and federal regulations and general contract terms.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of specific contracting assignments.


Preferred Qualifications

Strong knowledge of the organization, including its infrastructure, goals, mission, rules, policies, guidelines, etc.
