Senior Associate, Operations Planning, Chancellors' Office / 校长办公室运营规划高级助理

Led by the Chief of Staff to Vice Chancellor, Operational Planning supports Vice Chancellor’s oversight to university operations in a broad span, including strategic decision-making, seamless communication from and to university leadership, promoting effective execution by respective offices, coordinating university-wide initiatives or cross-departmental collaboration, taking initiatives that optimize efficiencies and effectiveness of university operations, as well as any other emerging needs or opportunities.


It also contains two distinguishing subdivisions. Institutional Research handles institutional data management, analysis, insight drawing, and data-driven initiatives. Program Management handles the development and maintenance to university procedures by Workday and other technical tools aiming for the optimization of efficiency.

This position serves as a generalist supporting the Chief of Staff’s work.


The main responsibilities include:

  • Desk Research on global and domestic education-related information such as policies, regulations, news, disciplinary trends, and peer institution updates for drawing insights of the education sector;
  • Story Writing and Telling about NYU Shanghai for different groups of audience (i.e. authorities, global and local peer institutions, prospects) for drawing better understanding about the university;
  • Support Project Management in a wide range of operations as assigned by the Chief of Staff;
  • Acting as the Liaison of the Chief of staff for seamless communication with other offices and departments;
  • Translation in writing and speaking for leadership speeches, articles, and events.
  • Other Admin Support to the Vice Chancellor and Chief of staff with agility.


  • Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably with international education background, research experience is a plus.


Working Experience

  • 2 years working experience in education, research, consulting, or other relevant areas;
  • Experience in a multi-cultural environment is a plus.



  • Quantitative and qualitative analysis methods;
  • Academic writing;
  • English-Chinese translation in writing and speaking;
  • Public presentation;
  • Good communication skills with culture sensitivity;
  • Solution-oriented mindset;
  • Strong self-motivation;
  • Business acumen is a plus.
