Position Summary
The Senior Associate Director, Third Party Systems, is responsible for the management of assigned third party systems within the Advancement technology ecosystem. The Senior Associate Director leads the day-to-day operations, optimization, and administration of assigned systems and applications, including system enhancements and configurations, project planning, documentation, and user support. They will collaborate with Advancement and University stakeholders to gather and document operational and functional requirements and translate into operational solutions via third party systems. The Senior Associate Director will also provide training and support for end users and maintain proper system access for user roles for their assigned systems.
The Senior Associate Director, in concert with the Director, will provide consultation on technology solutions that will help drive business objectives through ongoing analysis and enhancement of the Advancement technology ecosystem.


Job Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Builds effective working relationships with department stakeholders, team members, and vendors involved in assigned third party system management; relies on knowledge and professional discretion to achieve goals.
  • Assists with providing escalated support and guidance to junior members of the team, who will interact with a broad range of clients to provide support, expert advice, and training delivery, including support for high-impact technology initiatives.

Third-Party Systems and Technology Ecosystem

  • Supports the implementation and management of third-party systems in the Advancement technology ecosystem, including requirements gathering and tool selection with stakeholders, project planning, risk assessment, and vendor management.
  • For assigned systems, leads efforts to reengineer and optimizes business processes using technology solutions to gain efficiencies and reduce manual effort of stakeholders.
  • Sets and manages customer and stakeholder expectations. Influences decision making on third-party systems.
  • Develops, tests and deploys enhancements and new third-party applications based on evolving business needs.
  • Troubleshoots issues within the third-party systems and related integrations.
  • Provides training and support for end users and maintains proper system access for user roles.
  • Stays up-to-date on changes and upcoming enhancements for assigned third-party systems.
  • Prepares and maintains system documentation and instructions.
  • For assigned areas, collaborates with stakeholders within the organization and engages in benchmarking to stay abreast of technology solutions leveraged by other advancement organizations.

Performs other duties as assigned.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in analyzing business processes, managing technology systems, systems documentation, and/or systems administration.
  • Experience with implementing or managing Salesforce platform and/or applications.
  • Experience working in advancement and/or higher education.
  • Prosci Change Management Certification or other change management certification.
  • Understanding of and experience with IT, enterprise resource planning systems, and organizational change management projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results in large, complex organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects and process improvements, and analytics.
  • Experience managing external vendor relationships.
  • Supports colleagues and team members to maintain a productive, energetic, and efficient program team. Communicates effectively and frequently, both verbally and in writing, with other members of the team. Fosters collaboration among internal departments and individuals.
  • Ability to think strategically and analytically and to implement effectively.
  • Leadership experience as team leader, trainer, influencer, and collaborator.
  • Demonstrated success as a team member able to work effectively within a complex organization across multiple units dealing with diverse constituents toward development objectives and building effective working relationships.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly with technical writing.
  • Excellent program management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and independent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with exceptional accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and teach.
  • Ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details and discern user needs.
  • Ability to contribute and collaborate effectively as a member of a highly functioning and productive team.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of related experience.

Salary Range
$73,700.00 - $125,900.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
