ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT (IN-ENRL-IUINA)

Optimizing our enrollment mix is crucial to the long-term viability of IU Indianapolis. There are several factors that influence a student's college choice, persistence, graduation and success. The Division of Enrollment Management is comprised of over 100 full-time staff in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Office of Student Financial Services, Office of the Registrar, Office for Veterans and Military personnel, and Office for Enrollment Strategy and Insights, as well as other areas supporting student enrollment. The Division also oversees and provides insight for its enrollment operations for the Fort Wayne and Columbus campuses.

The IU Indianapolis Office of Undergraduate Admissions is seeking a Senior Assistant Director to manage academic school focused recruitments efforts. 

Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Provides daily operational management of academic school-focused recruitment staff, overseeing daily responsibility of academic area specific recruitment.
  • Provides supervisory leadership over a team of full-time staff, contributing to the variety of personnel actions to include, but not limited to staff development, hiring, promotion, and performance management.
  • Responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive recruitment plan and best practices for academic school specific recruitment
  • Participate in recruitment events on-camp us, off site and virtually.
  • Host one on one and small group visits for students interested in IU Indianapolis
  • Collaborate closely with faculty and administration to execute specialized recruitment, yield events, and establish best practices across academic schools. 
  • Design recruitment activities that are inclusive and ensures outreach to prospective students from underrepresented identities 
  • Build relationships with community-based organizations, community college counselors, and high school business teachers through travel and ongoing communication 
  • Coordinate the recruitment and enrollment of external transfer students 
  • Conduct campus and departmental presentations for perspective students and their families
  • Serves as the contact for academic specific prospective campus visits
  • Utilize CRM (Slate) to market develop and monitor statistical reports to enhance enrollment and yield, enrollment forecasting and operational efficiency
  • Regularly analyze data and deliver reports to academic schools and admissions leadership.
  • Coordinate print, electronic and social media communications with Office of Admissions Communications team and academic school staff.
  • Develop a strong knowledge of academic departments, degree programs, career outcomes and new initiatives offered at IU Indianapolis.
  • Attend IU Indy recruitment events that are held by the Office of Admissions
  • Track data on recruitment activities to develop a data driven approach to predict future recruiting efforts 
  • Work in the community to increase public awareness of IU Indianapolis success stories, and opportunities  

General Responsibilities

  • Provides day-to-day operational management of admissions and recruitment staff.
  • Establishes short-term operational objectives.
  • Identifies operational issues and/or areas of improvement and implements solutions to improve processes and/or operational efficiency.
  • Analyzes, monitors, and evaluates performance of assigned staff; establishes work priorities, conducts performance reviews, and provides corrective action as needed.
  • Ensures adequate staffing and effective scheduling; participates and informs employment decisions for assigned staff.
  • Provides direct supervision and oversight of assigned staff and activities; impacts, and is held accountable for, the performance of team and/or assigned staff.
  • Ensures and provides training to assigned staff to improve admissions and recruitment operations; researches and identifies development opportunities for assigned staff.
  • Researches and stays up-to-date on new industry admissions and recruitment standards, best practices, and emerging technology; keeps next-level leader(s) informed of trends as well as significant problems.

EDUCATION

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in business, public policy, or related field. 

Preferred

  • Master's degree. 

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required

  • 2 years in admissions, enrollment management, higher education student affairs, business, or related field. 

Preferred

  • 3 years of experience within higher education, admissions, recruitment, community engagement, visits and events or related field. 

LICENCES AND CERTIFICATES

  • Valid Driver's License upon date of hire.

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Some travel, including overnights may be required.

This position is eligible to work a hybrid schedule (mix between remote and in-person work), subject to change in the future based on university policy and business needs. 

$56,000 - $65,000 per year based on experience.
