Job Overview

The Senior Admissions Advisor carries out recruitment and admissions related activities for the Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies (Georgetown SCS) programs, and has a leadership role in assisting the Director of Admissions with special projects, trainings and new initiatives within the Office of Enrollment Management. They manage and implement admissions recruitment plans specific to the programs within their portfolio and create a customized relationship-based advising for programs assigned by the Director of Admissions and Executive Director of Enrollment Management.
 

They proactively seek out and counsel prospective applicants on the admissions process and opportunities for study at Georgetown SCS; and provide one-on-one admissions counseling to diverse populations – counseling that occurs primarily by in-person appointments, recruitment events, phone calls and email. In interactions with prospective students, the Senior Admissions Advisor incorporates aspects of the roles of facilitator, coach, customer service representative and sales representative.

The Senior Admissions Advisor supports the successful implementation of programs designed to recruit targeted prospective applicants to assigned programs. They attend college fairs and other community events, presenting the benefits of a Georgetown SCS education; facilitate processing for prospective students; and maintain admissions systems and data.

Additionally, they assist in growing targeted programs while maintaining correct size for others, and take on other responsibilities as assigned.

Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation
 

  • Daily interaction with the Director of Admissions and Executive Director of Enrollment Management
  • Daily interaction SCS applicants
  • Daily interaction with different areas of SCS and GU, particularly Academic Programs, Strategy, Marketing and Enrollment Management
  • Daily interaction with processing and document side of Admissions

Requirements and Qualifications
 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2 or more years of progressive experience in an organizational setting
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills - and a strong customer service orientation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with database maintenance
  • Team player with strong attention to detail orientation and ability to provide high level of service
  • Strong knowledge CRM and Application Systems - preference for Banner, Salesforce, Target X expertise
