Senior Accounts Receivable Assistant

Set up and maintain individual and departmental accounts on accounts receivable system, within guidelines. Assist with student computer loan accounts: ensure proper setup, control, and transfer of monies regarding the bookstore portion of the program; reconcile accounts receivables file with the Bursar's records. Assist with faculty computer loan accounts: ensure proper set up of accounts in accounts receivable for such purchases; process monthly adjustments for payments deducted via payroll; verify correctness of charges and payroll deductions and reconcile with Computer Store and Payroll Operations. Investigate and respond to a variety of routine and non-routine inquiries and provide information regarding status of payments, credit card processing inquiries, adjust accounts and respond to outside vendors; check status of payments and follow up; consult with supervisor, other department members or University offices (Central Human Resources, Payroll), as needed, to resolve more complex issues.

Required Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Experience:
3+ years bookkeeping or accounting experience. Experience providing a high level of customer service.
Preferred Experience:
2+ years of related experience (with associate's degree). 1+ years of related experience (with Bachelor's degree).
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent organization, interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills. Ability to reconcile accounts and engage in collections' efforts. Facility with numbers. Proficiency with intermediate-level spreadsheet and database applications and basic word processing.

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is USD $36.529. This rate is based on bargaining unit contracts. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
