The University of Washington School of Art + Art History + Design (SOA+AH+D) engages and educates students in essential issues of visual history and literacy, the creative process and visual communication, and innovative and socially responsible design. We work closely with leaders in the arts, academic and business communities to ensure that our students understand the role that this education will play in their future success as professionals and global citizens. SOA+AH+D has approximately 40 faculty and 23 staff members serving approximately 600 undergraduate and 60 graduate students plus more than 1,000 non-majors enrolled in our courses. We are seeking highly qualified candidates to fulfill the role of Academic Adviser.

The School of Art + Art History + Design, in the College of Arts and Sciences, has an outstanding opportunity for an Academic Adviser in the Advising and Academic Services Office. This role serves as the primary administrative link for undergraduate students to the School, College, and the University by coordinating practices, policies and programs that help guide and support student learning. The Academic Adviser is responsible for advising prospective students, pre-majors and declared undergraduate majors in the School of Art + Art History + Design, communicating academic policies and processes to aid students in decisions about their academic progress within the School and beyond. Not only does this role work frequently with students, but also collaborates frequently with faculty regarding academic policies, course curriculum, and student concerns. This role works under the supervision of the Director of Academic Advising. This position interacts with the Director of Advising, Director of the School, Administrator, Division and Program Chairs on various academic services projects.
