Job Description
ECU’s Teaching Resources Center (TRC) is seeking students who have exceptional customer service skills, are positive and flexible, who are able to work independently as well as with others, and who are detail oriented. Education majors are highly encouraged to apply.
Graduate Student Assistant duties include: working at the TRC service desk; assisting library customers by answering informational and directional questions; locating materials; searching the library’s online catalog; shelving, shifting and straightening curriculum materials; reading the curriculum shelves to maintain correct call number order; assisting customers with the use of equipment in the production center; processing materials; working with Microsoft Excel and Word; and other projects as assigned.
Various hours are available, including weekend rotations. In the summer, the Teaching Resources Center is typically open Monday-Friday from 10am-5pm, and Sundays from 1pm-5pm, with Sunday rotations required.
ECU’s Teaching Resources Center (TRC) is seeking Graduate Student Assistants for Summer 2024. Student assistants will:
• Assist customers at the Service Desk
• Assist customers with use of various equipment in the Production Center
• Shelve, shift, and straighten books and other curriculum materials
• Read the curriculum shelves to maintain correct call number order
• Work with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
• Search the online catalog for books and other materials
• Perform other duties as assigned
Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.)
• Reliable and detailed-oriented
• Ability to work both independently and with others
• Strong customer service skills
• Previous library experience
• Education majors
