Job Description
ECU Department of Campus Living is currently seeking several Conference Assistants.
The Conference Assistant (CA) (on campus) is a part-time position during the summer with responsibilities that work with and support students and on-campus guests at East Carolina University. Campus Living will hire students for live-in positions.
Applicants who demonstrate the following skills will be successful within this role:
· Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
· Critical thinking skills including the ability to problem solve and follow through with timely solutions
· Ability to work independently and within a team
· Enthusiasm and positive attitude
· Ensue your appearance and attire is professional
The CA is expected to fulfill the following general roles and responsibilities:
· Provide excellent customer service to camp and conference guests at East Carolina University
· Inspect rooms prior to and after conferences, including distribution and collection of linen
· Manage meal cards, parking passes, and key inventory for summer guests
· Perform summer camp and conference check-in and check-out duties
· Utilize Iris software to track damages, lost keys, and other details important to camps and conferences
· Report and follow-up on maintenance and housekeeping concerns as needed
· Serve as positive University representatives on and off campus as well as online
· Participate in departmental initiatives
· Understand and enforce University policies and procedures appropriately
· Serve on an on-call rotation for safety and security of buildings with participants during weeknights and weekends (if you’re living on-campus)
· Other duties as assigned
