Position Description


Advertised Job Summary
The Scholastic Media Program Manager plans, develops and executes the administrative activities involved with managing programs tailored to meet the needs of the students, advisers and teachers of scholastic media in middle and high schools in the state, region and nation.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience. Communication, organization and budgetary skills. Scholastic journalism and journalism knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft Office; virtual conferencing software (Zoom, Teams, etc.)
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Must have the knowledge and expertise to manage and plan scholastic education programs and provide advice to constituents. The ability to design and implement office organizational systems, bookkeeping skills, knowledge of university accounting systems and procedures are also important, as are the ability to work independently and exercise decision-making skills and discretion under minimal supervision. The ability to manage financials records including incoming and outgoing payments.

Organizes and oversees the day-to-day operation of the scholastic journalism office. This includes maintaining membership and registration databases, scheduling and supervising office assistants and interns, planning and implementing communications across various platforms, developing and overseeing budgets, and coordinating contests.
