The University of Miami Health System, "UHealth", IT Department has an exciting opportunity for an RPA (Robotics Process Automation) Engineer 2. The RPA Engineer 2 designs agile, reliable, and scalable technology solutions to enhance business capabilities. The incumbent in this role partners with product and optimization teams to identify pragmatic and innovative automation solutions that combine RPA (Robotics Process Automation) with advanced analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Additionally, the incumbent performs technical design documentation, designs the system architecture, and adheres to central governance guidelines and controls. Moreover, the person in this role reports to the Systems Architect for Cognitive AI who ultimately reports to the Executive Director of Revenue Cycle Optimization.

  • Acts as a liaison between the business and the IT team by analyzing highly complex business problems to identify opportunities for automated systems. Additionally, acts as the intelligent automation subject matter expert (SME) for RPA.

  • Influences key stakeholders through effective and compelling communication to understand the value of automation and related changes.

  • Partners with business process experts to discuss automation approach and outline deliverables, timeline, roles/responsibilities to build the automation pipeline.

  • Provides guidance to the IT, Finance, and Operational teams on the post automation implementation support.

  • Performs as a thought leader in developing process and automation competencies and analytics skills within IT, Finance, and Operations.

  • Coordinates with key internal and external stakeholders (e.g. Chief Integration Architect, Chief Technology Officer, Chief Data Science Officer, Chief Data Officer).

  • Manages automation activities, governance processes, and automation performance metrics.

  • Establishes, tracks and reports on RPA project performance metrics and financial impact.

  • Drives the identification and assessment of automation opportunities within the organization.

  • Develops software solutions that solve real problems and demonstrate potential usefulness of new and emerging technologies to stakeholders.

  • Coordinates with solution architects to identify and triage performance and operational issues that arise throughout the course of the implementation of intelligent automation solutions.

  • Deploys a multi-disciplinary approach (i.e. machine learning, AI tools, business analytics, etc.) to solving business challenges.

  • Drafts coding standards and procedures to meet with enterprise IT governance policies.

  • Communicates with tool vendors and third-party providers on software related issues and suggested improvements. Manages vendor relationships and new vendor selection.

  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:                                                                                                        

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.

  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.

  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.

  • Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.

  • Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.

  • Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office).
