Position Overview

Position Summary:
 
Under the direction of the Rodeo Head Coach, manages the promotion, fundraising and sponsorships of the NIRA Rodeo program. This role will also work closely with and have a dotted line report to the Vice President of Advancement and Public Relations (VPAPR).


Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:
 

  • In coordination with the VPAPR and the Head Coach of Rodeo, develop engagement and fund-raising strategies into cases for support for ENMU Rodeo
  • Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward potential sponsors and donors
  • Develop sponsorship and donor proposals and packages 
  • Working with University Communications, brand and promote ENMU Rodeo to potential sponsors/donors, prospective student athletes, and the general public
  • Showcase the talent of ENMU Rodeo
  • Act as a member of the advancement team while being focused on the strategic advancement of Rodeo
  • Perform other related duties as assigned. 
Minimum Job Requirements
 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 
  • At least one year of related experience required
  • A valid New Mexico Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment is also required, as well as the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle in all kinds of weather and road conditions
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills and the ability to work effectively with various groups and student athletes.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable sports and playing rules.
  • Knowledge of recruitment and retention of student-athletes.

Physical Demand and Working Conditions:
 

  • Work environment involves exposure to physical risks such as operating dangerous equipment or working with chemicals
  • Work may involve exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises
  • Work is active in nature that at times requires exerting up to 75 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
