About the Position: 

The Office of University Risk Management supports the University and its strategic goals by developing strategies to enhance scholarly and creative activity and the provision of programs that meet the evolving needs of our students, community and region while mitigating any corresponding risks. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Risk Management Analyst (Administrative Analyst/Specialist Non-Exempt). Under general supervision, the Risk Management Analyst is responsible for facilitating the full process and day-to-day oversight of University compliance functions, including outside faculty and MPP employment; Form 700 assignment, collection, and maintenance of designated and interim position lists; and compliance training assignment and completion. Responsibilities related to this include identifying participating employees, communicating requirements and deadlines, responding to questions, facilitating timely responses, and developing reporting mechanisms for tracking purposes. The Risk Management Analyst supports the department's process documentation and improvement efforts by reviewing existing operational procedures and processing manuals and making recommendations based on functional needs and best practices. In addition, the Risk Management Analyst will serve as a backup to other administrative staff in the areas of unemployment claims and volunteer designation and processing. Responsibilities related to unemployment claims filed by University employees with the Employment Development Department include but are not limited to handling, verifying, and responding to requests from the third-party administrator overseeing the CSU unemployment claims and collecting required data within required time frames. The Risk Management Analyst is also responsible for reviewing and facilitating requests to designate individuals as University volunteers. The Risk Management Analyst reviews, researches, and resolves problems of moderate complexity, which often requires independent and sound judgment to make decisions and interpret, and apply various applicable policies and procedures. The Risk Management Analyst will work with faculty, department personnel, and other individuals as needed. Thus, the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and serve as a liaison for the department is essential. Assignments require handling multiple work priorities and accountability for own work results. The Risk Management Analyst shall demonstrate a commitment to teamwork, professionalism, high-quality service, diversity, and mutual respect. Other duties as assigned.
