The Rabinowitz laboratory (https://scholar.princeton.edu/rabinowitz), a recognized leader in metabolomics, seeks applicants for a scientist, hired at the rank of Professional Specialist, to develop computational software tools for the lab, support efforts of the research team, train students and postdocs, contribute to data management and analysis, and innovate computational methods for metabolomics.

The key roles for this position involve writing software and analyzing data for a diversity of metabolomics efforts, including (i) organizing data and extracting peaks from LC-MS data, (ii) maintaining and enhancing software developed in the lab including MAVEN and NET-ID, (iii) contributing to computer-guided discovery of novel metabolites, (iv) establishing software for imaging metabolomics, (v) carrying out bioinformatics analyses, (vi) generally contributing to a collaborative interactive culture through providing computational and physical chemistry expertise, (vii) contributing to the training mission of the lab through working with and teaching students and postdocs.

We are seeking a candidate with excellent knowledge of metabolomics, data analysis, and computation. Successful candidates must be familiar with mass spectrometry and associated data types; strong in metabolism, chemistry, and quantitative science; and skilled and fast writers of computer code.

Essential qualifications include:
- A PhD in a relevant discipline or related field.
- Proven ability to successfully complete major independent research projects. 
- Proven ability to work well in a group, including collaboration and taking direction. 
- Knowledge and skills as described above. 

The appointment is for three years, with the possibility for renewal pending satisfactory performance and continued funding.
