The Lansing School of Nursing and Clinical Sciences at Bellarmine University invites applications for a 9-month term appointment as Director of Clinical Education, Respiratory Therapy Program. The position is available beginning August 15, 2024.

Responsibilities include oversight of both graduate and undergraduate respiratory therapy clinical experiences. In addition, responsibilities include classroom, laboratory, and/or clinical teaching. Teaching responsibilities includes all areas related to respiratory therapy. This is an instructor-level position.

Responsibilities:

1. Demonstrate effective leadership skills including critical thinking, problem solving, goal setting , decision making, delegation, strategic planning project management, coaching and mentoring.

2. Serves as educational resource to clinical affiliates, task forces, committees and projects related to policy , procedure and program development and community outreach and awareness.

3. Provides direct and indirect instruction and evaluation of students at the various clinical sites.

4. Provides didactic instruction to students in courses assigned by the Program Director.

5. Develops, coordinates, and evaluates the clinical instruction of all clinical instructors.

6. Develops, coordinates, and evaluates the clinical instruction of the students in the program on a continual basis.

7. Serves as a liaison between the RT program and the clinical affiliates.

8. Assists in recruitment and selection of students for the RT program.

9. Training, utilization and assessment of all clinical sites establishing inter-rater reliability.

10. Assisting and proving the RT program Director with information needed to maintain CoARC accreditation and standards.

11. Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.

12. Fosters the use of evidence-based medicine practice in current and future respiratory care scope of practice.

13. Maintain Kentucky RCP license.

 

 


Job Requirements:
  • Master's degree from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
  • � Valid Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) credential
  • � Current state license
  • � Four years' experience as a RRT with at least two in clinical respiratory care
  • � Two years' experience teaching in an accredited respiratory care program either as an appointed faculty member or as a clinical preceptor.
  • Completion of CoARC's Key Personnel Academy (which can be completed in first year of hire)
