Location: Columbia, Missouri
Shift: Three 12 hour shifts per week, AM or PM

In exchange for meeting special scheduling commitments to work a 12-week based program the following premium rates apply: Base Wage: $30.00/hour; Tiger Flex Differential: $20.00/hour; plus shift differentials for Night/Weekends

Tiger Flex Details:
Full time Tiger Flex (non-benefit eligible): Will work as a contracted Tiger Flex Respiratory Therapist for 36 hours per week. The Respiratory Therapist Tiger Flex therapist must work two shifts every other weekend. The Respiratory Therapist Tiger Flex therapist must work at least 50% of holidays within the employee’s 12-week contract. Holidays are outlined in policy HR-4002. Respiratory Therapist Tiger Flex wages, shift differentials, clusters, and shifts worked are outlined in the Tiger Flex RN/RT Compensation Guide. The additional rewards established are calculated by pay period.
If a full time Tiger Flex employee works more than or equal to 1500 hours in a calendar year, they will be converted to full time RT.
Job Summary:
This position will perform respiratory therapy procedures of both a routine and emergency nature to patients in general, progressive care units, and ICU.
Detailed Description:
- Work independently to administer services via approved protocols and guidelines. Provide Respiratory Therapy Activities including the following: collection and analysis of blood gas samples, oxygen therapy and specialty medical gas administration, invasive and non-invasive ventilation, inhaled medication administration, airway clearance techniques and airway maintenance, and pulmonary diagnostic testing and clinical monitoring.
- Act as member of the Code Blue, Rapid Response Team, and Trauma Response Team.
- Provide patient documentation through the electronic medical record.
- Follow infection control and safety standards.
- Educate and advise patients' families on respiratory therapy procedures. Provide education to students and other health care providers.
- Participate in Department Performance Improvement Project.
- Pulmonary Function Lab (with additional training): Perform advanced pulmonary function testing procedures. Assist with basic and advanced bronchoscopy procedures.
- May complete unit/department specific duties as outlined in department documents.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) licensure by the Missouri Respiratory Care board.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
