Job Summary:

The full-time Residency & Medical Student Coordinator will work with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology administration of our residency program and a variety of weekly continuing education courses and meetings. This position will work approximately 50% with our Residency Program Specialist coordinating the department residency program, and 50% with our Medical Student Clerkship program within the department. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology specializes in women's health. The Department also has a strong basic science research core. The Department has a strong basic science research core and in the clinical setting, faculty members practice and teach in the following subspecialties:

  • General Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Maternal-Fetal Medicine
  • Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility
  • Gynecology Oncology
  • Complex Family Planning
  • Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology
  • Urogynecology (MIGS)
  • OB-GYN Hospitalist

Residency Program:

Our Residency Program currently has 38 residents. Working in collaboration with the Program Specialist and under the direction of the Program Director. Residents in this program rotate at UCHealth, Denver Health and Rose Medical Center. 

Medical Student Clerkship Program:

Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Medical Student Clerkship and coordinating all medical student educational activities in the Department. This position will act as a first point of contact and liaison for all medical students, faculty, residents, community faculty, site personnel and school administration, and must be knowledgeable about medical education in general, the clerkship, the student programs within the Department, and its relationship with other clerkships in the University of Colorado. This role will retrieve, maintain, and tabulate the records of student performance for each course, and must ensure that all aspects of a clinical course operate in a smooth, timely, and professional manner. It is expected that this position will understand the curricular goals, policies, and standards of the specific clerkship or clinical course, department, and medical school.

Work Location:

Hybrid this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 1-2 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, business administration, healthcare administration, or another related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Two (2) years of professional level experience working in higher education.
    • Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in Education or Medical School settings.
  • Experience working with Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with University of Colorado procurement systems (i.e. Concur, Marketplace, etc.).
  • Experience booking travel arrangements (airfare, hotel, rental cars, etc.).
  • Meeting and event planning experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Effective problem solving skills including ability to analyze and evaluate data and make appropriate decisions and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated motivation and capability of performing in a complex and fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, strong work ethic, positive problem solving attitude, results oriented, and able to work through projects independently.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a high degree of professionalism and competence in dealing with a variety of individuals including physicians, program directors, university and hospital administrators, and industry representatives.
  • Proficient knowledge and work experience in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to quickly learn new software programs.
  • Strong and demonstrable organizational and time management skills, ability to meet multiple deadlines and manage interrelated and/or complex issues or transaction.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established as $52,961 - $67,367.

The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position may not be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
