JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Microbiology and Immunology, in Hershey, PA is seeking a Research Technologist, Medical Sciences, Intermediate Professional. The primary purpose of this position is to provide support for the laboratory. This includes, but is not limited to, maintaining lab reagent stocks, keeping records up to date, assisting with ordering and inventory and providing technical assistance with experiments as needed. Provide assistance with and/or independently perform experiments.  Basic techniques include but are not limited to Cell culture, Western blotting, PCR, microscopy, protein purification, nucleic acid isolation, and data analysis using computer software. The position requires advanced skills on biochemical experiments and electron microscopy operation though most instructions will be given as tasks are assigned.

Minimum Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree

Minimum Experience Required: 1+ years of relevant experience.

This is a limited term appointment funded for one year from date of hire.

• Pennsylvania Child Abuse History
• Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Background Check

The pay range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$38,300.00 - $55,500.00
