The Department of Surgery's Trauma and Transfusion Medicine Research Center (Dr Shea's lab) is looking for a highly motivated, independent, yet team-oriented Research Technician to assist on a project that is focused on the mechanisms of hemostasis, inflammation, and thrombosis. The Technician will be responsible for project and specimen management, intake, logging, and processing samples for cell isolation. Incumbent will also perform basic cell and molecular biology techniques and small animal procedures. The individual must have good organization and communication skills, be highly detail-oriented, and think critically.



Job Summary

Performs laboratory testing and some analysis on multiple types of specimen samples. Operates and properly sterilizes equipment and maintains inventory and assists with ordering.


Essential Functions 

Speaking and reading English required; excellent computer/database skills.


Physical Effort 

Frequent standing, traveling, and lifting of supplies; collaborators and/or equipment at offsite locations.
