Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The UNC Adams School of Dentistry Division of Oral and Craniofacial Health Sciences is the home of the faculty heavily involved in research and/or teaching in the Foundational and Biomedical Sciences.
Position Summary
The Research Technician position will provide technical and experimental support to ongoing biomedical research programs including assisting the Principle Investigators with laboratory maintenance, execution of experiments (bench-work), and data analysis. This position involves standard wet-lab techniques and experiences with model organisms. Specific experiences will include, but may not be limited to, cell culture and related applications, molecular biology work, immunohistochemistry and imaging,
The successful applicant will exhibit attention to detail, professionalism, and a good work ethic. They must be well-organized, reliable, be able to follow detailed instructions and become proficient quickly. Finally, they must be comfortable with independent work and collaborating with other people, in a team and in patient-facing settings.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
The successful applicant will exhibit attention to detail, professionalism, and a good work ethic. The applicant must also be well-organized, reliable, able to follow detailed instructions, have excellent record-keeping skills and quickly achieve proficiency. Also, comfortable collaborating with other people, in a multidisciplinary research team. Working knowledge of molecular biology, cell biology, and immunology.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Team oriented and lab experience preferred. Experience with standard wet-lab techniques including molecular techniques prefered.
