Research Technician 2 to assist with a research project in the College of Nursing involving secondary data and literature searches. Assists with organizing data from existing database; consults with study investigators to develop analysis and data interpretation methods; works closely with researchers to create datasets for analysis using statistical programming and analysis standards; conducts and interprets analyses of research data using descriptive statistics and basic inferential tests; identifies data discrepancies to develop resolution; prepares interim results, including tables and figures, and provides investigators written description of methods and statistical analyses used in analysis; assists with preparation of journal articles, technical reports and other materials for publication and presentation; attends project meetings. Assists in search of existing research reports using dataset and research on related topics. 


Additional Information:

Minimum Education and Skills/Experience Required/Desired:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in biostatistics, statistics or related field, and 1-2 years of relevant experience required. Demonstrated knowledge of standard statistical analysis methodologies with knowledge of at least one statistical programming language such as SAS, STATA or R required. Experience in managing large datasets and utilizing statistical software packages desired. Experience using secondary data preferred.

Requires successful completion of a background check; selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.

The successful candidate should have a background in literature searches and in management of secondary datasets and statistics.
