Research Technician, Natural Product Purification

About the Opportunity

Job Summary

The Antimicrobial Discovery Center is looking to hire 1 full-time, benefits-eligible Research Technician for immediate start and competitive salary and benefits. We are only seeking applicants who have both significant experience working with natural product purification and microbiology experience. The Research Technician will join our drug discovery and development team.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for assisting, designing, executing, and analyzing purification of Darobactin analogs.

Responsible for culturing bacteria and performing bioactivity assays.

Works with senior staff and follows established protocols.

Assists in general support of lab function as assigned by Manager, such as stocking, inventory, and ordering.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree 1+ years or Master’s degree (thesis-based Master’s programs only)

Has at least 2 years of experience working with purification chemistry and substantial microbiology experience.

Preferred skill set (not all required but all preferred): fermentations (pre and post processing), bacterial separation, resin extraction, chromatographic purification (FPLC, HPLC)

Experience working with cell-based assays and molecular cloning is beneficial.

Reliability, organization, and good communication skills are a must.
