Position Summary
The Research Technician will be responsible for assisting with duties related to the research activities in the PsychLing Lab. The position is part-time (fewer than 20 hours per week) and not eligible for benefits.


Job Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform data collection and management.
  • Complete transcriptions.
  • Conduct stimulus preparation.
  • Attend individual and group meetings in the lab.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience in laboratory research with human participants.
  • Degree in psychology, linguistics, communication sciences, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • Able to work independently and take initiative.
  • Good computer skills (knowledge of Excel, Word, and Powerpoint; knowledge or potential to learn R, Qualtrics, PsychoPy, Gorilla, E-Prime).
  • Familiarity with Praat and/or Audition/Audacity.


Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent high school certification.

Salary Range
$16.21 - $21.69 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
