Job Description

Research Technician

Competitive salary commensurate with relevant experience.

The purpose of this position is to assist in the research conducted in the Das lab at the Biology department. The major responsibilities include the following,

1. performing experiments with yeast cell culture, including strain preparation, data collection. The major techniques include confocal microscopy, cloning, and yeast genetics.
2. Data Analysis and reporting.
3. Preparing media and reagents required in the lab.
4. Preparing glassware required for lab research.
5. Ordering supplies as needed.
6. Implement and ensure lab safety protocols.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biology or Chemistry.
2. Must have excellent verbal and writing skills.
3. Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
4. Strong organizational skills
5. Familiar with quantitative approaches and basic biostatistics (preferred)
6. Willingness to work independently
