Research Support Specialist

 

Required Qualifications: (as evidenced by an attached resume)
Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field, in hand, or to be obtained by July 1, 2024. 
Preferred ​​Qualifications:
Experience with EEG or fMRI data collection. Experience working with human participants. Experience with coding (e.g., Python, MATLAB, and Psychopy). Data management and analyzes skills. Experience with general scheduling and coordinating work. Experience in psychological, neuroscience (or related area) research.
Brief Description of Duties:
Research Support Specialists will be involved in research on how interactions between emotion, perception and cognitive control can contribute to the development and maintenance of anxiety and psychotic disorders. Research Support Specialists will have the chance to develop skills in designing psychological tasks, recruiting participants, data collection, and analysis. Since a major focus of this research is on how the brain anticipates, processes, and counteracts the effects of emotional stimuli, research assistants will also have a chance to learn computational modeling, and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) techniques. Ability to demonstrate professional competence in teamwork and research activities. 

The successful incumbent must possess:

  • Being detail-oriented and highly responsible for work..
  • Ability to demonstrate professional competence in teamwork and research activities.

  • Recruiting and Scheduling.
  • Arranging research compensations.
  • Conducting research visits.
  • Data analysis and management.
  • Other duties as required.
