The Department of Emergency Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a Temporary Research Study Assistant (RSA). The Research Study Assistant will coordinate and perform work in support of clinical and health services research at Harborview Medical Center and UWMC. Projects will cover a wide range of clinical pathways with a focus on out of hospital cardiac arrest, traumatic injuries, strokes, sepsis, and opioids.  The research assistant will work in a team environment that includes faculty, fellows, medical students, and other key stakeholders.

Research Responsibilities

• Screen and appropriately enroll eligible subjects on various protocols.
• Assist with development and maintenance of research databases.
• Complete data entry for enrolled subjects.
• Process bio specimens per lab guidelines.
• Complete literature reviews relating to ongoing research.
• Perform related duties as required.

Administrative Responsibilities

• Schedule, coordinate, record, and distribute minutes for internal meetings with UW research collaborators.
• Prepare materials for meetings and workshops.

Minimum Qualifications
Two years of college-level course work in a relevant academic area AND one year of appropriate experience OR equivalent education/experience.

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Well-honed organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines.
• Ability to work with colleagues in a way that enhances collaboration and team building.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Desireable Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related academic area.
• Prior healthcare experience.
• Proficiency in REDCap.
