The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Columbia University???s Zuckerman Mind Brain Behavior Institute is seeking a highly-motivated individual to fill the position of a Research Staff Assistant. The position is in a neuroscience laboratory performing state-of-the-art research linking neural circuits to function, including studies of learning, sensory processing, and motor behavior in electric fish and mice.

This is a full-time grant funding position.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Animal colony management.
- Assist PI and senior researchers with ongoing research projects by performing histology, microscopy, behavioral studies, and stereotaxic surgeries in mice.
- Perform General Lab duties such as making reagents, solutions.
- Supporting purchases of lab equipment and supplies, sustaining lab inventories and ensuring timely maintenance of lab equipment.
- Other duties assigned by the PI.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have a science-related Bachelor???s degree and two (2) years of previous experience in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior research laboratory experience is highly desired.
