Job Summary

Performs a variety of laboratory experiments and procedures. Prepares specimens. Oversees supply management. Operates and properly maintains equipment.


Essential Functions 

  • Maintenance of mouse colony and conducting experiments on animal models of thyroid cancer. This work includes continuous update of the mouse databases, breeding, genotyping, and weaning
  • Perform in vitro cell experiments that involve culture and molecular analysis.
  • Set up and maintain day-to-day operation of the lab and ensure continuous smooth operation of the lab.  Assist in purchase of equipment and supplies; prepare solutions, media, etc. Keep updated lab databases of animals, biological samples, reagents, and orders.
  • Assist with maintenance of the lab documentation including IACUC and IBC protocols and BSL2+ manual.
  • Weekly meetings with PI to evaluate progress.

Physical Effort 

The position is primarily sedentary. Incumbent may be required to travel back and forth between laboratory areas with occasional lifting of reagent containers, and placing buffers and solutions on shelves.

Work Schedule Monday - Friday; 8:30am - 5:00pm
