Job Description

Purpose:

The Research Specialist III, under general direction, performs research work involving performance of assignments which may involve planning and directing certain phases of research projects.

The Research Specialist for Bioprocessing will be responsible for developing and writing procedures for cGMP bioprocessing for client use and for incorporation into courses.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads downstream processing activities for client contract research projects.
  • Supports course development and training deliveries by developing and teaching modules on downstream bioprocessing.
  • Advises on equipment procurement to support downstream activities.
  • Serves as cGMP lead when developing materials related to qualification, validation, deviation management, and quality assurance.
  • Cross trains on upstream activities and provides backup support as needed.
  • Delivers lectures and hands-on technical training program that meets the mission of the NCTM.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What we need:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Eight years of related experience

What is helpful:

  • Master’s Degree or above preferred
  • cGMP experience
  • Experience in the of biopharmaceutical industry with experience in upstream or downstream processing
  • Additional experience with Cytiva AKTA systems including method writing in UNICORN, and Repligen TFF systems

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
