The lab of Dr. Yael Niv in the Princeton Neuroscience Institute and the Department of Psychology at Princeton University (nivlab.princeton.edu) is seeking a bright and motivated full-time research assistant. Research in the lab focuses on computational modeling of learning and decision making, with a particular focus on mental illness (computational psychiatry). This position will be part of a project on predicting treatment response for people with depression undergoing treatment.

 

The position provides an excellent opportunity to further develop research skills in computational modeling and experimental analysis, and to gain experience running a large clinical trial. The successful applicant will be detail-oriented and have strong programming abilities, prior research experience with modeling learning data, and a keen interest in the lab's research.

recruiting and running participants on a large longitudinal online study, including:
- managing the IRB protocol for the study
- programming to automatize email correspondence with participants
- curation and cleaning of data from the experiment
- designing and simulating models of learning and decision-making for analysis of the data



Essential Qualifications:

- B.A. plus two years of post-bac research experience, or M.A. or equivalent in psychology, neuroscience, computer science, engineering or related field.
- Proven proficiency in programming (Python, Matlab or equivalent).
