Job Title: Research Services Open Rank Professional (Entry – Senior)

Job Summary:

This position reports directly to a Principal Investigator in the Division of Renal Diseases and Hypertension. The overarching goal of our laboratory is to develop novel therapies and diagnostic tools for the care of patients with autoimmune diseases. The laboratory uses animal models of disease, whole animal imaging techniques, 3D culture systems, multiplexed tissue imaging methods, and recombinant proteins. We also utilize samples from patients affected by these diseases. The position will entail production and engineering of recombinant proteins and antibodies for experiments, animal models of disease, biochemical assays, and microscopic analysis of tissues. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Cell culture and sterile technique.
  • Recombinant protein production and purification.
  • Provide animal care related to research studies, as necessary.
  • Perform experiments and tabulate and analyze research.
  • Drafting of manuscripts that result from these studies, and presentation of the results at conferences and meetings.

Work Location:

Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

Entry Level:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics, or related field.
    • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.

Intermediate Level:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics, or related field.
    • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
  • One (1) year professional level research experience

Senior Level:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics, or related field.
    • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
  • Two (2) years professional level research experience.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics, or related field.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience in an experimental or wet laboratory.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Basic to advanced knowledge of laboratory techniques including safety procedures and techniques.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
  • Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology, medical terminology.
  • Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information.
  • Attention to detail.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established as:

Entry Level: $42,088 - $53,536

Intermediate Level: $45,801 - $58,259

Senior Level: $49,515 - $62,983

The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
