The Ohio State University, College of Engineering, Department of Materials Science and Engineering is seeking a Research Senior Associate (Researcher 2). This will be an Experienced level Researcher role within the College. This is a Specialized Track role where the work will be  achieved through individual efforts as well as participation through project teams. The work done in this role may coordinate, review or influence the work of others within the Department.

Minimum Required Education is a Master's Degree in an Engineering Field. Candidate must have 4-5 years of relevant research experience with 5-7 years of relevant research experience preferred.

Researcher will rely on both their education acquired as well as work experience they have gained in prior Research roles. Researcher will continue to acquire higher level knowledge and skills within the Research Laboratory environment. Researcher will work on projects of moderate scope and complexity and apply judgement with defined parameters as set up by their Manager. Manager will provide general guidance on route matters, with more detailed instruction and guidance on more complex research activities.

Specific Research Areas that the Researcher will be involved in will include  the design, building, testing and use of hybrid autonomous manufacturing and metamorphic manufacturing systems. The research will be testing and evaluating the metamorphic manufacturing systems specifically for research purposes. This will include the Researcher conducting designs, building and testing these systems to ensure consistency and use for further projects.


Required Education:
Master's Degree in Materials Science and Engineering or Equivalent
Desired Education:
PhD in Materials Science and Engineering or Equivalent
Required Experience:
Candidate must have 4-5 years of relevant research experience in hybrid autonomous manufacturing.
Desired Experience:
Desired candidate should have 5-7 years of experience in hybrid autonomous manufacturing.
