POSITION PURPOSE
The University of Washington Department of Family Medicine Research Scientist 4 position will execute research efforts in primary care, informatics, data science, behavioral health, and clinical practice-research. The position will administratively lead Data QUEST, an electronic health record data sharing network across our 5-state region in close partnership with the WWAMI (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho) region Practice and Research Network and the Institute of Translational Health Sciences in support of the Department of Family Medicine’s Director of Clinical Research Informatics. This position will manage and significantly contribute to research efforts related to primary care, informatics, and behavioral health, and develop and execute studies that leverage real world data to drive evidence-based care and implementation of care. The position will lead elements of the research processes and strategic planning, provide senior project management, and oversee statistical methods, deliverables, and technical staff. The position also provides scientific input, including preparation of grant applications and dissemination of current research findings through publications and presentations. This position should have mastery of efficient resource allocation, project scoping and managing, determining feasibility of goals/objectives, statistical knowledge, and supervision of other research staff. This position will require both substantial independence and collaboration with diverse research teams. The Research Scientist’s direct supervisor will be Dr. Kari Stephens, Helen D. Cohen Endowed Professor, Research Section Head, Director of Clinical Research Informatics, and Professor in Department of Family Medicine.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will oversee and execute research efforts in several multi-site studies and involves overseeing the research, methods, financial, and operational functions under direction of Dr. Stephens for the Stephens research group as well as supervising other research staff.
