JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State’s Earth and Environmental Systems Institute (EESI) and Institute on Energy and the Environment (IEE) invites applications for a Research Project Manager 1 position to provide support for the Penn State Climate Consortium . The Climate Consortium is a research consortium, within the Office of the Senior Vice President for Research and administered by IEE that aims to coordinate and advance interdisciplinary climate research and societal solutions. The individual chosen for this role is expected to become an integral part of the Climate Consortium team, with responsibilities that include scheduling, event coordination, communication with team researchers and external key partners, web development, creation of outreach content, preparation of reports, and assisting with budget planning. The role may also include opportunities to engage with and support other projects and activities that operate within EESI and/or IEE.

Applicants for the position should have a bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of related experience with project management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience . Strong written communication skills and fluency with standard office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive) are essential. The position requires a very high level of organization and attention to detail, along with an ability to communicate and coordinate with students, postdocs, faculty, and staff across Penn State and at partner institutions. The ideal candidate will also have some background in a field that intersects with climate or sustainability research and education and/or prior experience with web development.
