Professionals receiving a doctoral degree in psychology should be capable of extending psychological knowledge and exhibiting the high level of analytic skills and theoretical understanding needed to use existing and emerging psychological knowledge.
Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Project Assistant for the Graduate Scool of Applied and Professional Psychology.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Works directly with the Director of the Center for Youth Social Emotional Wellness (CYSEW) to coordinate and implement federally funded clinical trials and support services for college students with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
  • Organizes and manages CYSEW day-to-day activities, including social media and event planning.
  • Works with the New Jersey community to ensure that youth have a fair and just opportunity to reach their highest level of mental health and emotional well-being.
  • Promotes youth mental health equity; defined as the right to access quality mental health care regardless of the individual’s race, ethnicity, linguistic literacy/proficiency, gender, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, disability status, or geographical location.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in psychology or related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Previous experience working in the area of human subjects psychology research (particularly project coordination).
  • Skills in Word processing, Excel, REDCap and SPSS.
  • Knowledge of general principles and practices within clinical psychology and the ability to use that knowledge for practical application.
  • Clinical experience and/or training in psychoeducational and/or diagnostic assessment with indivdiuals with ADHD.
  • Experience leading marketing and communications efforts, including social media and event planning.
  • Experience developing and submitting IRB proposals and developing research databases using Qualtrics and REDCap.
  • Experience interacting with diverse clinical populations and strong communication skills, as the position will take a leadership role in working with participants, Rutgers college students, and New Jersey community mental health organizations and schools.
  • Prior administrative experience and strong organization and time-management skills, as this person will take a leadership role in coodinating all CYSEW activities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree.
  • Clinical experience and/or training in psychoeducational and/or diagnostic assessment with individuals with ADHD is strongly desired.
  • Experience working with youth, adolescent, and emerging adults with social-emotional and behavioral difficulties.
