The Opportunity:

The Valle Lab at the University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Medicine (COM) Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences is seeking qualified candidates for a Research Program Coordinator (Part-Time, Temporary).

Responsibilities:

  • Perform technical, operational, and administrative tasks in support of the Principal Investigator’s (PI) biomedical research in the field of tumor biology related to Neurofibromatosis and Schwannomatosis. This includes working within Huron as related to IACUC and IRB.

  • Assist with grant preparation.

  • Extract data from multiple databases/sources and from external partnerships for National Institute of Health (NIH) federal, state, and university reporting.

  • Coordinate with key collaborations with sub-award teams and ensure effective productive relationships across several collaborating institutions.

  • Assist with budget development and preparing financial reports.

  • Prepare monthly or quarterly progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Assist with the planning, coordination, and preparing materials for meetings and workshops.

  • Other duties as required in support of biomedical research.

  • May travel to partnership locations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6) .   

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in English, Biology, Neuroscience, or a related field.

  • 5 years or more experience in a University Academic Health Sciences setting.

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and university funding sources and mechanisms.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong time management and planning skills.

  • Budget management skills.

  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office suite, Huron for IRB and IACUC, PubMed, Citation ManagerCertified by CITI for Human Subjects Research.

  • Familiar with UCF Workday and a basic understanding of contracts and grants.
